POSITIVE PSYCHOLOGY

Positive Psychology is the scientific study of human flourishing and optimal functioning.
Daily life presents a multitude of challenges ranging from minor frustrations to major life events. Without having the effective tools to be able to recognise what is good, and work through challenges, our wellbeing suffers, hindering our ability to live our best life.
Positive Psychology aims to boost positive emotions and focuses on strengths, values, meaning and fulfilment in life. The interventions and practices are designed to promote wellbeing, happiness and overall life satisfaction.

" Increasing positive emptions help build on and improve our intellectual, physical, social and psychological resources. "

If you can imagine a scale of minus 10 to plus 10. Clinical Psychology and the medical world are great at doing what they do best. They get you back to 0, they get you back to your normal self.
Positive Psychology on the other hand, focuses on
the other end of the scale, 0 to plus 10

Positive Psychology Is About:
-
How can you flourish in normal everyday life?
-
How can you feel your best and be at your best?
-
How can you increase your wellbeing?
-
How you can reduce the intensity and duration of negative emotions?
-
How can you be better prepared for the challenging times?
-
How can you increase your chances of success?
-
How can you be happier?
-
How can you feel more joy, purpose and meaning?

All Emotions Are Important
This is not about pretending to be happy all the time. In Positive Psychology we do not ignore negative emptions nor pretend they do not exist. Emotions are important, as they inform, guide us and they help us survive. It is how we deal with certain emotions, and the behaviours we attach to them, that can impact our wellbeing.
That is where Positive Psychology comes alive, and the ripple effect is vast. Not only does it improve your life as an individual, but it can truly benefit those around you.
